Between 2008 and 2012  UK television transmissions are switching over to Digital. The old Analogue signal will be switched off forever. This could result in you losing all your tv stations. Although this will not affect all tv aerials.

Lamberts Aerials can help, We can supply and install everything you need for a smooth and trouble free transition over to digital TV. This is what most people call a digital upgrade, or digital aerial upgrade. Technically there is no such thing as a Digital Aerial. What we really mean is an aerial that will be capable of receiving digital signals. On this web site i will be using the term, DIGITAL AERIAL, as that is what most people type into a search engine when looking for an aerial upgrade. And its these words that might have directed you to this site.

 

We install aerials in Sheffield and its surrounding areas for Freeview, D.A.B. aerials, aerials for FM radio, we can also extend your aerial installation to other rooms. If you have Sky tv we can also send the sky channels around your house, giving you control of the sky box too (TV LINK), this means you dont have to go back to the room the sky box is in just to turn it over,

We also install systems which enable you to have what Sky call, Multi Room. This is where you have two or more Sky boxes in seperate rooms, independant of each other.

Freesat is a digital satellite TV service from the BBC and ITV which launched in May 2008.

No subscription, no contract, and installed by us, Freesat registered, professional installers. We are one, of only a few registered Sheffield Freesat installers with over 10 years experience.

To watch you'll need a Freesat receiver, a satellite dish and ideally an HD-ready TV. It's basically the satellite equivalent of the digital terrestrial TV service Freeview

Freesat has  a key advantage over its terrestrial cousin. Freesat is available to 98% of the population, compared with 75% for Freeview. 

 

A very flexible system we also install is the multi switch, Usually an 80cm dish is installed with a quattro l.n.b (not quad) and a tv aerial. These signals are fed into the multiswitch then distributed to all rooms, both signals running down one cable. The rooms then have a face plate which seperates the two signals (diplexing). If Sky plus is required in any room we just run an extra cable from the switch to the chosen room (we advise this for every room). This system enables you to view satellite tv (sky or sky plus) or terrestrial analogue or digital tv in the room. These multi switches are ideal for landlords with student houses.

Each room having its own tv point capable of satellite, digital tv (where available) and analogue tv, will make the property more attractive to rent.

Some companies will quote very low prices on adverts or the phone, just so you will book them in, then put the price right up once they get to your house, WE DONT!  We have a standard aerial installation charge which we try to keep in line with most other quality installers in Sheffield. If we think your install would be non standard we will let you know on the phone.

 

If you are just ringing around for a quote, ask what you are getting for your money. We only install the best quality products and will be only too happy to tell you about these items. Just remember if you buy cheap, youll buy twice! and this is especially true in the world of tv aerials. Just think, your poor old tv aerial system sits up on your roof in all weathers - Rain - Hot Sunshine - Wind - Snow. All this weather has an effect on the longevity of your system. A small charge will be necessary for surveys out of Sheffield to cover diesel and running costs.
