Why can't i receive freeview HD?

 First and foremost you need to live in an area where the Freeview HD signal is being transmitted, there are currently only around 10 transmitters in the Uk that broadcast

freeview HD.

For viewers in Sheffield this can be problematic, as the Emley moor transmitter sends out the signal towards the Leeds / Bradford area, thus resulting in a low powered offering for Sheffield. (until the August digital switch over that is)

Viewers will need a new freeview HD device. This can be a set top box, integrated tv or digital tv recorder. Your tv may be HD ready but unless you have one of the aforementioned products you will not be able to view the HD programs.
