Before Channel 5 came on the scene Sheffields tv transmitter only carried BBC1, BBC2, ITV and Ch4. This meant an "A" group aerial would be neaded.
Then on March 30th 1997 Channel 5 started broadcasting to the nation. To be able to view this "last of the analogue" channels a wideband aerial would be needed. As the frequency range for tv's was already quite busy, Ch5 was shoved right up at the end at 839.25MHz. or 67 depending how your tv tunes.
